Beijing Normal University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Beijing. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", and is one of the first ten universities to be built in the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. The school's predecessor was Shi Jing University Hall, which was founded in 1902. 1908 was renamed as Shi Jing Excellent Normal School, with independent organizational system. 19 12 was renamed Beijing Normal University. 1923 The school was renamed Beijing Normal University.
