History of Peking University
Peking University has a long history and is the highest institution of higher learning in China. Since the establishment of imperial academy by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Western Jin Dynasty and the Eastern Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties were renamed as Guozixue, and imperial academy. This name was used until the end of the Qing Dynasty. 19 12, Shi Jing University Hall was renamed as Peking University, and then renamed as National Peking University. 1927, at the request of warlords, Peking University was merged into Shi Jing university. 1928 was renamed National Peking University, China University, Peking University and Peking University College successively by Nanjing National Government. 1929 changed its name to National Peking University. 1937, the National Peking University moved to Changsha and formed the National Changsha Temporary University with Tsinghua and Nankai. On April 2nd 1938, the National Changsha Temporary University was renamed as the National Southwest Associated University. 1946, graduated from the National The National SouthWest Associated University, and the three schools moved back to the original site. During the period of 1952, the government carried out a major adjustment of colleges and universities. After a huge adjustment of colleges and universities, the National Peking University moved to the original yenching university campus, which is now the Peking University campus, and was officially renamed Peking University.
