More than 1 000 books of Wuhan University Press won prizes at or above the provincial and ministerial level, among which "Population Mobility and Urbanization in Contemporary China" won the "Five One Projects" good book award; Private International Law, Three Treatises on the History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties, History of Western Economic Development and Principles of Comparative Criminal Law were shortlisted for the first and second National Book Awards and the third and sixth National Book Awards respectively. Computational Solid State Physics, Dyadic Green's Function in Electromagnetic Theory, New Theory of Economic Crime, Forty Years' Experimental Research on Plant Sexual Reproduction won the 8th, 10th, 12th and 13th China Book Awards, and China Labor Mobility and Three Rural Issues won the first China Excellent Publication Award.

Wuhan University Press has been awarded the titles of "Advanced University Press" and "National Excellent Press" by the Ministry of Education, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and the General Administration of Press and Publication.
