The Music Department of Art College of Yangtze University was founded in 1996. At present, there are two undergraduate majors: musicology and music performance. Since 2007, we have jointly recruited graduate students majoring in computer composition and production. At present, musicology major has been listed as the key major of Yangtze University.

There are 6 1 full-time teachers in the Music Department, including 8 teachers with high professional titles, 26 doctors 1 person, and 26 masters1person. The Music Department also invited famous experts from the art world, including part-time professor 1 and visiting professor 1. According to their own professional characteristics, music teachers have set up a number of teaching and research teams, such as composition, vocal music, instrumental music, piano and historical theory, and achieved fruitful results. Presided over 2 provincial-level teaching and research projects and 2 school-level projects; Chorus and Conductor is listed as a school-level excellent course of Yangtze University. A number of teachers won the Yangtze University Teaching Quality Excellence Award. In terms of scientific research, music teachers have created a large number of music works, represented by the song "Sesame Blossoms Higher and Higher" which won the "Five One Project" award in Hubei Province. In the past three years, teachers have published (performed) more than 65,438 papers and works in professional media at or above the provincial level, 2 textbooks and monographs, and another 4 are under construction. The music department has good teaching conditions, with 500 concert halls, 1, 150 small theaters, 2 digital piano classrooms, 1 computer composition and production laboratories, 1 recording studio, 100 student piano rooms, 40 professional piano rooms, and 6550. There are more than 8,000 professional books, audio-visual materials 1000 sets and more than 20 professional periodicals.
