This school was established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. School started at 1903 10 8, where Zhou Zhenlin, Huang Xing, Xu Teli and Mao Zedong taught successively. 1951March, Hunan Agriculture and Forestry College, which was developed from minor schools, merged with Agricultural College of Hunan University to form Hunan Agricultural College. President Mao Zedong wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting. 1994 changed its name to Hunan Agricultural University in March.
