Founded in 1909, South China University of Technology is the first mining institution of higher learning in China and the earliest institution of higher learning in Henan Province. 20 12 was selected as the national "basic capacity building project of the revitalization plan of higher education in the central and western regions". After the founding of New China, the school adhered to the direction of serving the coal industry, focused on broadening the fields of disciplines and specialties, and became an important talent training base for the coal industry.
