Raoping has a long history and a rich collection of humanities. Famous classical literature scholar, literary historian and calligraphy artist. Xiande Mai: A native of Jingzhou Town. Deputy commander and senior colonel of a naval base was awarded the title of "combat hero" by the Ministry of National Defense. Zhan Bohui: Born in 193 1. He is a famous dialectologist at home and abroad, and once served as the first dean of the College of Literature of Jinan University. Chen: Xuanhua, Shangli (now Shangdong Village, a big city). Now it has been compiled into Dongli Zhi, with 8 manuscripts and more than 200,000 words. It is the earliest existing local chronicles in Chaoshan area, which is highly praised by historians and widely used in compiling local chronicles. The main works are Ishioka Collection. Zhang Yongfu (1871-1957) is a native of Zhangxixikeng Village, Raoping County, Guangdong Province.
