In the13rd century, universities in Europe were very different from private schools in China. First of all, from the perspective of educated people, most of the people educated in private schools in China are wealthy families. Although there are cases where children from ordinary families send their children to school in order to get ahead, the proportion is particularly small. Even if they can afford to send their children to private schools, such families are not red farmers. Therefore, people who can receive a complete private school education are well-off and not universal. But the educated people in Europe are obviously class and will not be too limited by class and wealth.
Secondly, from the point of view of purpose, China's ancient private school education trained imperial examination talents, and then directly entered the officialdom. The content of learning is only four books and five classics and some poems and songs. People who receive this kind of education do not have the ability to engage in specific industries. /kloc-in the 0/3rd century, western European universities were specially set up to train professionals, covering a wide range of fields, including law, medicine, theology, literature and art, and commerce. They were established for the needs of the European Renaissance and the development of commercial society.
Therefore, in contrast, the function of private schools in China is relatively simple, which is not conducive to the training of specialized personnel, while the training purpose of European medieval universities is clear and conducive to social progress and development. But as far as institutionalization is concerned, China's private schools are also very mature after thousands of years of development, with a complete institutional model and system. Only from the historical development trend and specific content, western universities are more modern and mature.
