Graduate School of South China University of Technology:

South China University of Technology 1956 began to recruit and train graduate students, and 1978 resumed to recruit graduate students, which was approved by the State Council as the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units. In 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a graduate school. In 20 1 1, it was approved as the first batch of pilot units in China to train engineering doctoral students, the first in South China. As of September, 20 19, there were more than 2 1200 graduate students, including more than 3,600 doctoral students, more than 2,700 full-time graduate students, and more than 4,900 part-time graduate students.

Nine disciplines, including engineering, materials science, chemistry, agricultural science, physics, biology and biochemistry, computer science, environmental science and ecology, and clinical medicine, rank in the top of ESI global rankings 1%, among which four disciplines, namely engineering, materials science, chemistry and agricultural science, rank in the top of the global rankings 1‰, ranking fifth in universities in China and/kloc-in South China.
