Yunnan Normal University, formerly known as the Teachers College of National Southwest Associated University, was founded by Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University in 1938 when War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression moved south to Kunming. At present, it is one of the key universities in the Central and Western Universities' Basic Capacity Building Project 100, the only provincial-level key normal university in Yunnan Province, and the "National Graduate Employment Typical Experience University" by the Ministry of Education. The school covers an area of 3,300 mu and consists of 22 colleges and 2 independent colleges. The school has 43 provincial-level scientific research platforms and bases, including National Solar Water Heater Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Kunming), China-Laos Renewable Energy Joint Laboratory, Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education, Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, Key Laboratory of Yunnan Province, Engineering Technology Research Center of Yunnan Province, Academician Expert Workstation of Yunnan Province, and Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Yunnan Province. There are 20 provincial and ministerial innovation teams, including the innovation team of the Ministry of Education, the innovation team of Yunnan Province and the innovation team of philosophy and social sciences of Yunnan Province. Changjiang Scholar 1 person from the Ministry of Education, 2 national famous teachers 1 person, 2 young scholars, 3 national experts with outstanding contributions, 5 national "100 million talents project", 2 awards for young teachers in colleges and universities from the Ministry of Education, 7 winners of the "New Century Excellent Talents Training Plan" from the Ministry of Education, 2 national model teachers and 6 national excellent teachers. It is a state-level cross-strait exchange base, a Chinese education base of the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and a training base for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language in China. The school's annual scientific research funding exceeds 6,543.8+billion yuan, with 2 postdoctoral mobile stations, 4 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 2 disciplines 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 26 first-class master degree authorization points and 17 master degree authorization points. It is the first batch of 24 universities in China to recruit and train postgraduate students in Chinese international education.
