Xihua university, referred to as Xihua for short, is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It has been selected into the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest", the first batch of "New Engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, the "Double First-class" construction Gongga plan of universities in Sichuan Province, and the education and training plan of outstanding engineers in Sichuan Province.
Sichuan Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan and Sichuan 20 1 1 Plan are excellent universities in undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of demonstration universities in Sichuan Province to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and members of the University Alliance of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle. Xihua university was founded in 1960 as Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, 1972 was renamed as Chengdu Agricultural Machinery College, and 1983 was renamed as Sichuan Institute of Technology. In 2003, Sichuan University of Technology and chengdu normal university merged to form xihua university. In 2008, Sichuan Economic Management Cadre College merged.
As of May 2023, the school has five campuses, namely Pidu, Yibin, Pengzhou, Rennan and Yisancang (Thailand), with a campus area of nearly 4,000 mu.
