Even if you only have two days to visit Xiamen, Xiamen University must go. If time permits, I suggest you spend an hour or two carefully visiting the most beautiful universities in China.

1, enter from the south gate.

People usually come to the south gate of Xiamen University after visiting Nanputuo Temple. After entering the classical western-style south gate of Xiamen University, there is a crossroads about 30 meters ahead. Turn right at the intersection and go straight for 30 meters. On the left, you can see the Furong Lake in the center of the campus, and on the right, you can see the main building group of Jiageng. This is a good place to take pictures. Furong Lake has an island in the middle of the lake. You can go to the island through a stone bridge. You can sit and lie on the island. When the weather is fine, you can lie here and enjoy the sunshine. Leave the island in the middle of the lake, go straight for 20 meters and you will see a fork in the road, choose the path on the right and walk a few steps down, then walk along the lake for about 50 meters to the right, and you will see a platform extending into Furong Lake for people to take pictures.

Leave that platform and continue walking around Furong Lake. Here you can see some waterfowl preying and resting in the lake. Go to the end of the lake, leave Furong Lake, turn left and walk 30 meters, and see a flower bed. You can see Lu Xun's portrait in the front left of the flower bed. Lu Xun worked as a teacher in the Chinese Department of Xiamen University for half a year, during which he created works such as "From Baicao Garden to San Tan Yin Yue" and "Mr. Fujino". After taking a photo with Lu Xun, walk 30 meters along the road and see the Humanities Museum. Xiamen University has the best structural anthropology in China. This anthropological museum collects many precious cultural relics collected by the famous anthropologist Mr. Lin, covering the history of human civilization from the Stone Age to the 20th century. There are many exhibits about Minnan folk customs in the exhibition hall on the second floor. Friends who are interested in anthropology and ethnology should not miss it. The museum is free, and visitors are more obliged to explain after a long time.

After visiting the Anthropology Museum, you can see a slope before returning to the statue of Lu Xun. Walking up the slope, you can see a row of five magnificent Jiannan buildings. In the middle is Jiannan Great Hall, built at 1952. With a seating capacity of 4,000 people, it was once one of the largest halls in China. There are often performances here at night, and tourists can generally watch them for free. When building the South Auditorium, you can also look at the bay outside the campus. When the weather is clear, you can also see the southern Wutai Mountain in Zhangzhou across the sea.

Walking down a flight of steps from the Great Hall of Jiannan, you come to the winding fields. This is a stadium with a long history. In the middle of the stands, there is a couplet: "Since Rao Yuan, the waves are thousands of hectares, and the moon is around." Walking to the center of the grass in Shangxianchang and looking back at Jiannan buildings, it is quite spectacular. This is a must-see for Xiamen University students to shoot graduation photo. Visitors should not miss it. After taking the photo, climb the stairs, descend the slope from the left side of the Jiannan Great Hall, and return to the crossroads next to the statue of Lu Xun.

At this time, turn left at the crossroads and walk 100 meters, and you will see the portrait of Mr. Chen Jiageng, president of Xiamen University. Mr. Chen Jiageng founded Xiamen University in 192 1, and then spent all his money to keep Xiamen University running. Finally, due to Japanese aggression, he had to apply for changing Xiamen University into a national university at 1937. Behind the statue of Jia Geng is the Qunxian Building Group, which was built in 192 1. On the second floor of the middle building, there is a memorial hall for Mr. Chen Jiageng and a museum of school history, all of which are free. After the visit, go back and go straight ahead.

At the end of the road, there is a fork in the road The building in front is Furong No.4 Middle School, the student dormitory. When the two phoenixes in front of the building are in full bloom, they become beautiful scenic spots. I wonder if Terry Lin's song The Legend of the Phoenix Flowers refers to this place. Phoenix flower is the school flower of Xiamen University. June, July and September are the flowering seasons every year. At that time, I saw the branches of phoenix flowers all over the campus red and dazzling; Near the flowering period, these bright red phoenix flowers fall from the branches, and the trees are covered with forest paths.

Leave Furong IV, walk 50 meters to the right, cross a gap, and you will see Baicheng Beach. If it's not early, you can walk out of Baicheng school gate and end your trip to Xiamen University. If there is still half an hour, you can turn left and visit law school and art school. Turn left and walk along this road for 200 meters. There is an excellent viewing platform overlooking the whole bay. Keep walking for 300 meters until you come to a crossroads near the law school. Turn right downhill, then turn left, and you will see a girl's sculpture. Go straight for 200 meters and you will see a tall building, which is the Art Institute. Climbing the steps and looking back at the bay is magnificent. This is the end of the tour route of Xiamen University Headquarters. You can choose the original road back to the south gate, or you can leave Xiamen University from Baicheng Gate to Baicheng Beach.

2. Enter from the west gate

After entering the campus from the irregular west gate of Xiamen University, you can see an equally irregular sculpture. Visitors may wish to imagine the meaning expressed by this sculpture. Go straight for 200 meters, and you can see Jia Geng statue, Jia Geng memorial hall and school history museum. Keep walking until you reach the second intersection. On the left is Furong Lake, and on the right is Luxun Statue and Anthropology Museum. Up the slope, on the one hand, you can reach the Jiannan buildings and Shangxianchang, on the other hand, you can reach the intersection of Fenghuang bloom.
