Nanjing University

Nanjing University, referred to as "Nanda", is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Ranked among the national "double first-class", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project" key construction universities. The nine schools' alliance (C9), China University Presidents' Association, Pacific Rim University Alliance and 2/were selected for the Everest Plan, Strong Foundation Plan,11Plan and 201Plan respectively.

The school was founded in Sanjiang Normal School on 1902, and was renamed Nanjing University on 1950 after Liangjiang Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University and National Central University. 1952 merged with College of Arts and Sciences of Jinling University, still named Nanjing University. The school site was moved from Sipailou to the original site of Jinling University in Gulou. In 2006, the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province signed an agreement on key construction of Nanjing University. 20 1 1 The Ministry of Education renewed the construction agreement with Jiangsu Province.
