According to official website information of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University is not a university with 2 1 1. Lanzhou Jiaotong University was founded in 1958. It was established by Tangshan Railway Institute (now Southwest Jiaotong University) and Beijing Railway Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University) and moved to Lanzhou. Formerly known as Lanzhou Railway College, it is the third railway college in China.
From the end of 1950s to the end of 1990s, under the leadership of the Ministry of Railways, the school implemented the management system of running schools by industry. In 2000, according to the overall planning of the state, it was placed under the management of Gansu Province, and the management system of "joint construction by the central and local governments, with local government management as the mainstay" was implemented. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed as "Lanzhou Jiaotong University".
The school campus covers an area of 1565 mu, with 3 campuses and 1 National University Science Park. The school building covers an area of 808,800 square meters, with total assets of 2.337 billion yuan, fixed assets of 65.438+323 million yuan and teaching and experimental instruments and equipment of 242 million yuan.
The library has a collection of 2.222 million books, including more than 4,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, 492,000 electronic books and more than 35,000 audio-visual materials. It is one of the five major document collection units in Gansu Province.
Cooperation and communication
By March 2023, the school has signed a counterpart support agreement with Tianjin University and established long-term cooperative relations with more than 50 institutions of higher learning in more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Britain, France, Russia, Canada, Japan, Spain and Brazil.
Authorized by the China International Chinese Education Foundation, the school co-founded the Confucius Institute with the University of Seville with a history of 500 years, becoming the first university in Gansu Province to host the Confucius Institute in a developed country.
