China University of Mining and Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It has successively entered the national "2 1 1 Project", "985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform Project" and the national "double-class" construction universities. The school is one of the first universities in China with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees, and has a graduate school approved by the state.

There are 2 national "double first-class" construction disciplines, one first-class discipline 1 discipline, eight national key disciplines in two disciplines, and one national key (cultivation) discipline 1 discipline. There are 6 dominant disciplines and 7 key disciplines in Jiangsu Province. China University of Mining and Technology is a world-famous university of mining and is directly under the Ministry of Education. The national (first batch of 22 universities) "2 1 1 project" and "985 project" and "innovation platform for superior disciplines" are also one of the four universities in Jiangsu Province, namely Nanjing University, Southeast University, China University of Mining and Technology and Hohai University.
