It is not a 985 university, nor is it 2 1 1 university. The school was founded in 195 1, formerly known as Northeast Institute of Education, and 1953 was renamed shenyang normal College. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, shenyang normal College and Liaoning Education College merged to form Shenyang Normal University. 20 12 and 20 14 were selected into the "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan" and "Excellent Teachers Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education respectively, which was the first batch of pilot universities to carry out comprehensive reform of professional degree postgraduate education.
