The major of finance aims at cultivating students' ability to deal with financial practice at home and abroad by using mathematical tools and methods of finance, economics and management. Professional training will highlight the characteristics of mathematical analysis and information technology application. Through the study of this major, students will grow into compound senior management talents with solid knowledge of financial theory, professional knowledge of securities investment analysis, insurance practice and corporate finance, and competent for enterprise management.
Second, what to do after graduation?
Graduates of this major can work in domestic and foreign financial institutions such as banks, securities companies, fund management companies, insurance companies, trust companies, leasing companies, etc., they can also work in the financial departments of enterprises and institutions and news media related to this major, and they can also study for master's degrees in this major or related majors at home and abroad. The main courses include financial principles, western economics, statistics, financial management, accounting, insurance principles, monetary banking, econometrics, international finance, commercial bank management, securities investment analysis, introduction to financial engineering, financial risk management, management of non-bank financial institutions, methods and cases of enterprise financial management, and management and practice of investment funds. Southwest Jiaotong University, located in Chengdu, a famous historical and cultural city with the reputation of "Land of Abundance", is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education jointly established by the Ministry of Education, China Railway Corporation (formerly the Ministry of Railways), Sichuan Province and Chengdu. It is one of the first batch of key construction universities in China, such as "2 1 1 project", "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform", "201/plan" and "excellent plan", and it is also "1+/kloc-0". The school signed the "National Postgraduate High-level University Construction Project", which is a university with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees.
Southwest Jiaotong University is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China. Its predecessor was Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway School, which was founded in 1896 (the 22nd year of Guangxu). It is the birthplace of modern transportation, mining and metallurgy and civil engineering education in China. 192 1 merged and reorganized into jiaotong university. Since then, the school has been named Tangshan Jiaotong University, Tangshan Engineering College of Jiaotong University, China Jiaotong University, Northern Jiaotong University and Tangshan Railway Institute. 1969 moved to Sichuan and changed its name to Southwest Jiaotong University the following year.
As of August 20 15, the school has three campuses, Jiuli, Xipu and Emei, with a total area of about 5,000 mu, forming a school-running pattern of "one school, two places and three campuses". At present, there are 24 colleges and 74 undergraduate key majors (including 12 national specialty), with a total collection of nearly 7 million books (pieces), including 3.7 million paper books.
In the historical process of the school 100 years, 57 academicians at home and abroad, 3 winners of the "Two Bombs and One Satellite Meritorious Medal" and 17 engineering design masters have come out from here. Mao Yisheng, a famous bridge expert, is an outstanding representative among the graduates of Jiaotong University. I have been teaching in this school for a long time and have served as the principal of my alma mater for four times.
