Taiyuan normal University is a full-time normal college which focuses on undergraduate normal education, with non-normal education and postgraduate education developing in harmony. 1999 was approved by the Ministry of Education in March, and was formed by the merger of Teachers College of Shanxi University, taiyuan normal College and Shanxi Education College.

The school has four campuses, with a total area of about 1884 mu, of which the new campus covers an area of 1569 mu, with a construction area of about 550,000 square meters. At present, there are more than 24,000 full-time undergraduates and 0/000 graduate students from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Since its establishment 20 years ago, the quality of education and the level of running a school have been improved year by year, showing a thriving development trend.
