The undergraduate education specialty in China's colleges and universities is divided into three levels: discipline category, discipline category (first-class discipline) and specialty (two disciplines).

According to 1997, the catalogue of disciplines and specialties for awarding doctoral and master's degrees and training graduate students is divided into philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, military science, management, art 13, and there are several first-class disciplines under each category, such as mathematics under science.

Discipline category refers to the division of disciplines.
