On May 9, 20 17, the Center for Cryo-Electron Microscopy of Zhejiang University was formally established. The preparation of the center began in October 20 1 16 10, and the site construction began in July 20 17, entering the stage of installation and debugging of instruments and equipment.

The center is equipped with a series of high-end electron microscope equipment, photoelectric correlation microscopic imaging equipment, light stimulation high-pressure freezing equipment, field emission scanning electron microscope equipment and various supporting big data computing systems, and has established a complete research platform for molecular cloning, protein expression, purification and protein characterization.

According to reports, the research service direction of the center is to make the living structure of protein and the structure of cell tissue. The goal of the center is to build a world-class experimental center and provide advanced technical support for researchers who need electron microscopes nationwide and even globally.

2. Tsinghua University

In 20 14, the cryomicroscope equipment in Tsinghua base was basically in place, and China became the leader in this field.

Tsinghua base includes cryoelectron microscope platform, X-ray crystallography platform, nuclear magnetic technology platform, protein preparation and identification platform, biological computing platform, cell imaging platform, cell function analysis platform, protein chemistry and genomics platform, metabolism and lipidomics platform, gene sequencing and analysis platform, BSL-2 platform * *1technology platform.

Set up a national user service center and facilities office in protein, with 123 sets of large-scale instruments and equipment of more than 500,000.

3. Shanghai University of Science and Technology

The life science electron microscope platform of Shanghai University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the electron microscope platform) is a major basic science platform facility led by iHuman Institute.

Cryo-electron microscopy can be used to analyze the high-resolution three-dimensional structure of subcellular and biomacromolecules, and the research objects involve different structural levels. The platform aims to serve the transformation research in structural biology, cell biology and related fields.

Two 300kV frozen transmission electron microscopes, 1 200kV frozen transmission electron microscope, two 120kV transmission electron microscopes and Aquilos double-beam scanning microscope were installed in the first phase of the life science electron microscope platform of University of Science and Technology Shanghai.

As well as supporting facilities for sample preparation such as high-pressure freezing and frozen slicing, and a set of high-performance computer cluster of computer network system for collecting, storing and processing cryo-electron microscope image data, providing a complete cryo-electron microscope technical solution for researchers.
