College of Pharmacy of Jilin University, formerly known as College of Pharmacy of Bethune Medical University, was founded in 1998. It was founded by a group of famous scientists and educators, such as Professor Jingda Xu, a famous natural medicinal chemist, in response to the large demand for pharmaceutical professionals in society, and began to recruit pharmaceutical undergraduates in the same year. With the development of medicine, pharmacy and biology, new interdisciplinary subjects and new frontier technologies have been formed. In order to adapt to the development of life sciences in the 2 1 century, the former Bethune Medical University, under the active advocacy of famous scientists such as 1999 biochemist Professor Tongshu Yang, applied for the establishment of an internationally leading and popular undergraduate major in bioengineering (regenerative medicine).
