Me and the University for the Aged
To find a reincarnation.

Most students in the school are young people. Many people have never heard of the university for the aged, some are surprised, and some send me all kinds of questions. I remember, I didn't know it existed twenty years ago, just like these young people.

However, some colleagues don't know it yet, and they are surprised to hear it for the first time. I thought, like other education, it was available all over the country!

Then let me talk about it.

As early as 1989, Haimen established a university for the aged, but at that time I didn't know that I was young and my child was only three years old. I don't know if I've heard of it, but I forgot, and it's far from me!

Several years later, at a colleague's house, I was shocked to see her retired mother drawing a horse at home! I am a layman who likes to look at paintings. I think the painting is really good, and I envy her very much. My aunt said I could learn, I could learn. I have no foundation. Many people in our university for the aged can't even catch a paintbrush. Flower and bird painting is very good now. That man has held several art exhibitions.

Since then, I have been in awe of the university for the aged.

Only then did I know that there are singing classes, ballroom dancing classes, Mulan boxing classes, calligraphy classes, massage health classes ... Every class is held in 40 yuan every semester, and I can attend classes whenever I want, even if I have time. There is no limit, so it is cheap, and you can also reimburse half of the original unit with the invoice.

Well, of course there will be many classmates, right? Not exactly.

At that time, universities for the aged were only open to retirees from government agencies and institutions. I now think that it may be designed for those officials who retreat to the second line. In fact, it is as unreasonable and unfair as the dual-track pension system.

Later, it was improved to allow retired laid-off enterprises to enter, and the fees were the same. Of course, I can't find the reimbursement unit. However, compared with the enthusiasm for participation, this cost is really nothing. With the increase of enrollment, there are more requirements, curriculum expansion, age limit, and there is an upper limit for enrolling in classes, no more than two.

Around 2007, before I retired, I was hired by the school to take a knitting class. I don't know where I heard it. I did take a lot of days off, and I'm still single. Nothing, just knitting and chatting in a wool shop. I went to teach knitting all kinds of fashionable hats for a semester, and then I was relieved. Preparing lessons is also very annoying, fearing that hobbies will become a burden.

However, this is indeed an insight into the attraction of universities for the elderly. At that time, our senior university was advanced in the whole province, with more than 20 courses, and there were long queues and even quarrels at the beginning of each semester.

Now that I'm in Nantong, the times are more progressive, and I'm in by going up one flight of stairs. The university for the aged in this city also has a long history and outstanding achievements.

Now it's all online registration. I did my homework in advance the year before last, combined all the available time periods with my favorite subjects, and selected several courses comprehensively. I just waited for the speed of the newspaper, but I still didn't get what I liked, so I had to settle for the second best and apply for A (Memoir Writing Class) and A (Flower Cultivation Class). The epidemic stopped for a long time last year. In autumn, I grabbed the newspaper, but I didn't grab the song. I chose a basic English class, so I can accompany my grandson. Try to grab the cooking class next year.

Now there are dozens of senior college courses here, all of which are very popular. Every day, the old people come in and out with swords and pianos in their hands, but everyone carries a schoolbag, smiles on their faces, and has a vigorous pace, and there is an age limit for students. Sister Liu of my class has retired more than 20 times at the age of 56 this year. She is proficient in piano, chess, calligraphy, painting, poetry and songs.

The most expensive 240, the cheapest 130, was automatically reduced by 60 when paying by mobile phone, and only 70 was paid. The treatment given to retirees by institutions directly reflects that we don't need to go to the unit for reimbursement.
