The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) is the only normal college among the eight existing universities in Hong Kong. Based on the 65-year inheritance of five former normal education colleges, it is the only one of the eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee that focuses on teacher training and professional development.
