The Early Development History of Jimei University
Jimei, the hometown of Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader in China, is located in Xiamen, Fujian, and is a famous tourist scenic spot. In his early years, Mr. Chen Jiageng invested in studying and founded Jimei Learning Village. Later, Jimei Normal School was founded in 19 18. Jimei School Business Department, established in August, 1920, 80 years old. Since its founding 80 years ago, the school has changed its name several times, merged several times and moved several times, and experienced twists and turns and hardships:

1924 The school was renamed Fujian Jimei Commercial School. During the period of 1937, during the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the school was shelled by the Japanese invaders and moved to Anxi County, Fujian Province. 1938 was renamed Fujian private Jimei United School. 1939, the school moved to Datian County, Fujian Province, and changed its name to Fujian Jimei Senior Joint Vocational School. 194 1 changed its name to Fujian Jimei Senior Commercial Vocational School, and moved back to Jimei in 1945.

After decades of development, Jimei Xue Cun has formed five institutions of higher learning featuring maritime education, aquatic education, physical education, financial education and normal education. 1994 10, Jimei University was established on the basis of five colleges: Jimei Navigation College, Xiamen Fisheries College, Fujian Institute of Physical Education, Jimei Finance and Economics College and Jimei Teachers College.
