The school is located at No.89, Wen Lan Road, Xianlin University Town. It is an independent college with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

Zijin College of Nanjing University of Science and Technology was founded in 1999. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2004, it was transformed into an independent college at the undergraduate level, which was organized by Nanjing University of Science and Technology in conjunction with social forces.
