General situation of Henan Polytechnic University:
Henan Polytechnic University (HPU) is a characteristic backbone university in Henan Province, which is jointly funded by the central and local governments and mainly managed by local governments. Founded in 1956, it is a national key university with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics and teaching. Henan Polytechnic University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and strong comprehensive strength in teaching and scientific research.
The school covers an area of more than 2300 mu, 14 colleges and 2 teaching departments, offering disciplines and majors, covering science, engineering, literature, teaching, management, economics and other disciplines. Among them, construction engineering, mining engineering and chemical engineering are at the top level in China. As a comprehensive university with engineering as its main feature, Henan Polytechnic University has been actively promoting scientific research and transformation of achievements, and has achieved remarkable scientific and technological achievements.
The school has 2 national excellent teaching teams, academician of China Academy of Engineering 1 person, 4 national famous teachers, 9 outstanding talents in scientific and technological innovation, and 5 national excellent doctoral thesis supervisors. As of September, 2022, the school has three campuses: South Campus, North Campus and West Campus, with an area of 4 100 mu, a building area of/kloc-0.4 million square meters and 3,264 teaching and administrative staff. There are 23 teaching colleges, namely Cheng Zheng College, International Education College, Continuing Education College and Innovation and Entrepreneurship College. There are 82 undergraduate majors, featuring engineering, safety and geology, covering 9 disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics and law.
