The 3rd1Universiade (Chengdu Universiade), the 5th Universiade in China and the 4th Universiade in Chinese mainland are also the first comprehensive world games in western China. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China from July 28th to August 8th, 2023. A total of 6,500 athletes from basketball, volleyball, track and field, swimming, etc. 18 and 269 events, 1 13 countries and regions signed up for the competition.
On the evening of July 28th, 2023, the opening ceremony of the 3rd1Summer Universiade was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and the Universiade kicked off. The closing ceremony of the 3rd1Universiade Summer Games will be held in Chengdu Open-air Music Park at 8 pm on August 8, 2023.
Chengdu Universiade venues
The main stadium of Chengdu Universiade is Dongan Lake Sports Park, which will undertake the opening ceremony, gymnastics, swimming and other important events. In addition to Dong 'an Lake Sports Park, there are Phoenix Mountain Sports Park, High-tech Sports Center Gymnasium and Xindu Xiangcheng Sports Center Gymnasium as competition venues.
Dongan Lake Sports Park is located next to Checheng Avenue in Longquanyi District, Chengdu, with a total construction area of about 320,000 square meters. The project includes "one hall, three halls and one hotel", that is, 40,000 comprehensive stadiums, 1.8 multi-functional gymnasiums, 5,000 swimming and diving gymnasiums and comprehensive stadiums, and five-star reception hotels.
