The Law School has several research institutions, including the Institute of Theoretical Law, the Institute of Constitution and Administrative Law, the Institute of Criminal Law, the Institute of Civil and Commercial Law, the Institute of International Law, the Institute of Legal History, the Institute of Economic Law, the Institute of Litigation Law, the Research Center of Legal Science, the Research Center of Intellectual Property and Technology Law, the Research Center of Human Rights, the Research Center of European Union Law, the Research Center of American Law and the Research Center of Criminal Law. He has undertaken more than 50 national and provincial-level research projects, including China's legal history, human rights, government law enforcement, judicial reform, property law, tort law, security law, power restriction, China legislation, organized crime and financial crime. Among them, the research results of Chinese legal history, human rights and the rule of law, judicial reform, tort law, comparative law, folk law and legal hermeneutics have great influence at home and abroad.
In recent years, law school teachers have published more than 500 academic papers in national core journals, more than 20 academic articles overseas, 65 academic monographs and high-level teaching materials, and won more than 60 national, provincial and ministerial awards. The Jurisprudence Library, organized by the Law School and published by Shandong People's Publishing House, has been highly praised by the legal circles. Academic journals such as Human Rights Research, Folk Law and Legal Method, which are presided over by well-known professors in law schools, have important influence in academic circles. In 2000, Shandong Province started the construction of social science research base, and the legal research base was located in the Law School of Shandong University.
