Jilin Jianzhu University, referred to as Ji Jian for short, is located in Jingyue National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changchun City, Jilin Province. It is a key institution of higher learning in Jilin Province, focusing on engineering, featuring civil architecture, and supporting and coordinating the development of disciplines such as engineering, literature, management, law and art. It is also a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. The school's predecessor was 1956 Changchun Urban Construction Engineering School founded by the Ministry of Urban Construction. It is the first secondary specialized school of civil engineering in Jilin Province and one of the first ten specialized schools of architecture established in New China.
1960 was upgraded to an undergraduate college, renamed Jilin Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and became the first civil engineering undergraduate college in Jilin Province. 20 13, the school officially changed its name to Jilin Jianzhu university. The school covers an area of 948,000 square meters with a total construction area of 454,000 square meters. The school library has a collection of1.3000 volumes and more than .6000 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals/kloc-0, with a total value of 336 million yuan.
