Chongqing University was founded on 1929. The school site was originally located in Caiyuanba, Chongqing. 1933 moved to Jialing river in Shapingba, Chongqing, 1935 became a Sichuan provincial university, and 1942 became a national university. On the eve of the founding of 1949 New China, it has developed into a well-known comprehensive university at home and abroad, with six colleges of arts, science, engineering, business, law and medicine.
