The school was founded in Changchun Central Medical College, and was established in 1950. Its predecessor was Changchun College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which was established in 1958. In 2006, it was renamed Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Beihua University School of Medicine is located in the scenic Jilin City, Jilin Province, and is an affiliated teaching unit of Beihua University, a key comprehensive university in Jilin Province.
Its predecessor was Jilin Province Midwifery School, which was established in 1948. 1958 was renamed Jilin medical college with the approval of the provincial government, and began to recruit undergraduates. 1959 was transferred to Jilin medical college, and 1973 was approved by the Ministry of Education to resume undergraduate education.
3. Jilin Medical College
Jilin Medical College was founded in 1952, formerly known as Jilin Military Medical College of the Fourth Military Medical University of PLA. In August 2004, the whole school was transferred from the army to Jilin Province, becoming a provincial public institution of higher learning, and now it is the only independent undergraduate institution of western medicine in Jilin Province.

Tonghua Health School of Jilin University and Tonghua Medical College are located atNo. Baoan Road 1597, Dongchang District, south of Tonghua City. Founded in 1958, it merged with Tonghua Medical College on 197 1 to form Tonghua Health School. 1988 successively cooperated with Bethune Medical University (now Jilin University), Changchun Staff Medical University, Changchun Medical College and Beihua University.

Norman Bethune Medical Center of Jilin University was formerly the Health School of Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, which was founded in September 1939.
