The west campus of Guizhou University is Huaxi West Campus, and its address is Jiaxiu South Road, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. Guizhou University was founded in 1902, and merged with Guizhou Agricultural College and other institutions in August 1997 after the period of Guizhou University Hall, provincial Guizhou University, national Guizhou Agricultural College and national Guizhou University. In August 2004, it merged with Guizhou University of Technology.

As of March 20 19, the school covers an area of 4,646 mu and consists of 40 colleges, including 1 one world-class construction discipline, 1 one national key discipline, 17 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 49 first-class discipline master degree authorization points and 3,940 on-the-job faculty members.
