Southern Medical University, formerly known as the First Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, is a provincial-level key university of "2 1 1 Project" in Guangdong Province, a pilot university of "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, and a first-class garden-style college in Guangdong Province. Founded in 195 1 and 1979, it was identified as a national key university, and was approved as one of the eight national eight-year medical education pilot colleges in 2004. In August, 2004, according to the orders issued by the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the whole school was transferred to Guangdong Province and renamed Southern Medical University.

He won 49 outstanding teaching achievement awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, developed a general medical question bank, won the second prize of the outstanding teaching achievement award of the army, and was popularized and used in more than 50 colleges and universities across the country.
