Evolution of Tokyo Sculpture University
1954 In April, Yoko Misawa (a famous Japanese design master) founded the Misawa Design Institute based on the idea of Bauhaus. As the predecessor of Tokyo Shaping University, it was founded in Bajihara-Bajin-CHO and was one of the few higher education institutions in Japan at that time.

65438-0966 Approved by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Tokyo Stylistic University enrolled students in Hachiko, Tokyo, with a four-year academic system. The school takes the comprehensive concept of art design as the core and aims at cultivating creative high-end artistic talents, and has trained a large number of artistic elites.

1April, 1993, the school moved to Yujin, Hachioji (design: Isozaki Shinji. Due to various reasons on the way, the original scheme was changed, resulting in some discrepancies with the original design).

This university was founded in 2005. On the basis of the tradition of undergraduate education research, an educational research institution aimed at cultivating artistic talents and researchers with high professional ability was established. In April 2008, Nobuhiro Suwa (film director) became the president of Tokyo University of Modeling.
