1. Academic requirements:

Average requirements: 985/2 1 1-80%, and double non-85%.

Background professional requirements:

Bachelor's degree or above, equivalent to British second-class honours, with major related * (geography, planning, ecology); Relevant working experience is preferred.

For China applicants, they have a four-year bachelor's degree with an average score of not less than 80 to 85.

2. Language requirements: IELTS: total score 6.5 Listening 6.0, Conversation 6.0, Reading 6.0 and Writing 6.0.

Master of Science in Landscape and Well-being has no special requirements for personal statements.

The portfolio is at most 10 pages (A3 format), with your name and UUN number on the cover. If the file is larger than 4MB, upload the portfolio to the website of * * * *, and suggest Dropbox or OneDrive. We do not accept password-protected links. Multiple separate files cannot be accepted, and the folder must be a complete PDF.

Master of Science in Landscape and Well-being does not need a portfolio.

Second, the project introduction

This project is awarded professional certification by the School of Landscape Architecture to provide you with professional landscape architecture skills.

Landscape design is a discipline that focuses on design, planning and management activities. Landscape is defined as outdoor space, environment and the relationship between people and land. Landscape architecture pays attention to all types of landscapes, including cities and villages. It is famous for the integration of art and design with physics, nature and social sciences.

The project benefited from the research on typical studio types in the art college environment, which was provided by landscape architecture and university community. Most uniquely, the course of plants and horticulture will be taught by the Royal Botanical Garden (RBGE) in Edinburgh. Therefore, the project also benefits from the global reputation of RBGE.

Edinburgh itself is a unique and exciting learning center, and many of its problems are the core of its major. In a short distance, relatively underdeveloped areas such as the Scottish Highlands and the border areas show different problems, opportunities and solutions. However, the project has an international perspective and currently has postgraduate courses in Poland, Estonia and France.

Third, the curriculum.

The first semester course:

Botany+detailed design I+ landscape history

Studio option 1: This course will focus on landscape design in combination with current themes that affect contemporary urban conditions, such as climate change, sustainable development and urban self-control. It will be more suitable for students who change their major and have a relatively weak foundation.

Studio Option 2: The course will introduce the landscape planning at the basin scale, and contact all aspects of landscape characteristics, such as sustainable development, renewable energy production (focusing on wind energy) and so on.

The course will be based on the group's strategic planning activities and the design of various venues, which is more suitable for students who have a certain foundation and are interested in hydrological landscape and energy landscape.

The second semester course: geographical landscape+detailed design II+ ecology

If the first year is to think about the landscape around the courtyard and green plants, then the second year is to think about the landscape from the sustainable development environment.

The course will consider the relationship between human behavior and the city from the perspective of nature, the smallness of people in the natural environment, try to appreciate the beauty of nature, and look for geological relics to spy on ancient times. The difficulty of the course will be upgraded, suitable for students with a certain foundation.

Studio option 1: The course will encourage students to think extensively and deeply about the site itself, so as to determine the position and benefits of' park' in the modern urban system.

Studio Scheme 2: The course will be divided into two parts, the first part is community design, and the second part is the regeneration design of London City Airport. The course will focus on the annual instability of the Thames and design and improve the potential of the dock site, which is suitable for students with a certain foundation.

Curriculum of the third semester:

Generally, there are three directions for students to choose from in the studio course. The venue is not in the UK, but in other European countries according to the teacher's project. At the same time, different venues will have different design themes, and students can choose according to their interest in the topic.

The fourth semester curriculum:

The last semester is graduation project. The school gives students the greatest creative freedom, and students can choose venues and design themes according to their own preferences. The school will arrange 1 guidance 1 twice a week to help students complete their graduation project better.
