What are the differences between several English majors in Sun Yat-sen University?
I am a senior in the School of Translation, Sun Yat-sen University.

The English major of the School of Foreign Languages focuses on theoretical research, linguistics and British and American literature.

Business Foreign Languages, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Translation are all English majors in the Translation College (which finally appeared on the graduation certificate), but the directions are different. Business English will learn some basic economic knowledge and theory; Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, such as an introduction to linguistics, will also have teaching practice opportunities; Translation is interpretation and translation. These three departments focus on the English foundation in the first two years, and then divide the direction in the last two years. After the freshman year, you can choose a new direction and change schools, focusing on practice.

As far as the faculty is concerned, Yuan Huan University is not as rich in resources as other colleges, because it is a new department. However, in terms of employment and students' activity in school, transfer is still good. If it is mainly academic, it is best to choose a foreign school.
