Xi Jiaotong University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education and one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. Its predecessor was Nanyang Public School, which was founded in Shanghai, 1896. 192 1 renamed jiaotong university. 1956, the State Council decided to move Jiaotong University to Xi 'an, which is a part of Jiaotong University. 1959 was named Xi jiaotong university and listed as a national key university.
The school is a comprehensive research university featuring science and engineering, covering science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy, teaching, arts and other disciplines 10, with 27 colleges (departments), 9 undergraduate colleges and 19 affiliated teaching hospitals. There are 5982 teachers, including 3072 full-time teachers. At present, there are 40 academicians of the two academies, 6 national famous teachers, 93 Changjiang scholars from the Ministry of Education, 40 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 23 national experts with outstanding contributions, and 28 national candidates for the "100 million talents project" and "100 million talents project in the new century".
