Brief introduction of two undergraduate universities:

Anhui University of Science and Technology, located in Huainan City, is a university jointly established by Anhui Province and the Emergency Management Department. The revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province is a "high-level university with local characteristics", and the peak discipline construction plan of Anhui Province particularly supports universities.

The National "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest" supports colleges and universities, and has been selected as one of the universities implementing the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, the training and selection base for reserve officers of the People's Liberation Army in China, the first batch of national demonstration universities for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the first batch of national new engineering research and practice projects, and the national demonstration base for training innovative talents.

The school was founded in 1945 with the name of Anhui Bengbu Senior Industrial Vocational School, and moved to Huainan in 1947. It was renamed Huizhou Provincial Institute of Technology and Huainan Institute of Coal Industry.

1955 school was upgraded to Hefei Mining Institute, 1958 was renamed Hefei University of Technology, 197 1 Mining and coalfield geology major moved back to Huainan, and merged with Huainan Coal School to form Huainan Coal Institute.

Huainan Teachers College, referred to as "Huainan Teachers College" and "Shi Huai" for short, is located in Huainan City, Anhui Province, an important national energy city, and is a full-time undergraduate college in Anhui Province.

In the early days of the People's Republic of China, in order to solve the shortage of basic education teachers, the state put forward the educational goal of training "one million teachers". In order to adapt to the development of Huainan education, the northern Anhui administrative region proposed to build Huainan Normal School to meet the needs of the times.

195 1 year, the preparatory work of Huainan Normal School was started, and the school site was selected at the northern end of Huaishun Middle Road in Tianjiaan. That autumn, Huainan junior high school held two short-term teacher training courses. Since 1952, Huainan Normal School has officially enrolled students. By 1957, Huainan Normal School had basically formed a comprehensive secondary normal school according to the conditions of running a school at that time.

On September 28th, 1958, Anhui Provincial Party Committee approved "adding Huainan Teachers College on the basis of Huainan Teachers College", and Huainan Teachers College was established. By 1962, the school has developed into a comprehensive normal school including junior college, preparatory course, normal school and primary normal school.

1962 Due to historical reasons, Huainan Normal University was closed and transformed into Huainan Normal School.

1963 Huainan Normal School was closed and renamed Huainan Normal School.

1977, Huainan Normal School resumed running.

1999 On June 25th, the Huainan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to set up the preparatory group for the merger of Huainan Normal University, Huainan Education College and Huainan Normal University to discuss the preparatory work. On August 23rd of the same year, the People's Government of Anhui Province issued a reply, agreeing that three universities would merge to form a new Huainan Normal University.

In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Huainan Teachers College was upgraded to a full-time provincial undergraduate college and renamed Huainan Teachers College.

In 2007, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education and achieved good results.

In 2009, the school was first identified as a provincial-level project construction unit for postgraduate training among newly-built undergraduate colleges in Anhui Province. ?

In 2022, Anhui Province enrolled the first batch of undergraduate majors in 2022, including six normal majors such as Chinese language and literature, primary education, mathematics and applied mathematics, English, biological science and chemistry, and three non-normal majors such as computer science and technology, electrical engineering and automation, and electronic information engineering.
