National project evaluation:
With the support of relevant departments, the national discipline evaluation is conducted by the Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education according to the Catalogue of Degree and Talent Training issued by the Ministry of Education and the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee to evaluate the overall level of the first-level disciplines with postgraduate training and degree-granting qualifications (hereinafter referred to as discipline evaluation).
"Discipline evaluation" focuses on academic degrees, and professional degree level evaluation is the professional degree part of "discipline evaluation". And cluster and sort according to the evaluation results. This work was first carried out in China in 2002, and four rounds of evaluation had been completed by 20 17.
The degree center adheres to the principle of "voluntary application for participation, free of participation fees" to carry out subject evaluation. As long as one or more two disciplines have the right to confer doctoral or master's degrees (that is, have the qualifications for postgraduate training and degree conferring), all units can apply to participate in the evaluation of disciplines at the corresponding level. The third round of evaluation is conducted according to the "New Discipline Catalogue", which requires that the related disciplines (such as the original "history" and "architecture") of the "split discipline" must apply to participate in the evaluation at the same time, so as to objectively reflect the real situation after the split discipline.
