Tianjin Medical University, the predecessor of Tianjin Medical College, was founded in 195 1, which is a higher medical college approved by the Administrative Bureau of the Central People's Government. On June 1994, Tianjin Medical College and Tianjin Second Medical College merged to form Tianjin Medical University.
