According to the list published by Shandong Education Examinations Institute, there are 47 universities in Shandong, including Qingdao Agricultural University, Yantai University, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liaocheng University, ludong university, Linyi University, shandong institute of business and technology, Shandong First Medical University and Qilu Medical College. So Qilu Medical College is the second.

The school is located in Zibo, the birthplace of Qi culture with a long history. Its predecessor is Shandong Wanjie Medical College, which is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded on 1995. 1999, Shandong Wanjie Medical College was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2008, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college-Shandong Wanjie Medical College, and was renamed Qilu Medical College on 20 15.
