The difference between Chinese Department and Anthropology and Folklore lies in several aspects: 1. In terms of curriculum, folklore in anthropology department is taught with anthropology students, but a few more folklore courses are added. Folklore in the Chinese department is of course a little more courses in the Chinese department. As a result, people have different attitudes towards folk customs and different research methods. (2) When studying folk customs, CUHK Anthropology Department must do field investigation (one month for undergraduates, three months for postgraduates and one year for doctoral students), that is to say, the research object is life folk customs. The Chinese Department focuses on historical folklore and conducts logical research from the text. Of course, it has not been absolutized because of many academic exchanges. For example, Professor Deng Qiyao from the Department of Anthropology of CUHK holds a doctorate in folklore from the Department of Chinese Language and Anthropology. (3) To study Lingnan culture, I think it is better to study in the Department of Anthropology. It's good to be a graduate student in Deng Qiyao. Personally, I think it is very interesting to do field work and investigate folk customs on the spot. If you just read books and look at folk products, but didn't participate in folk activities at that time, the experience would be very different.

In a word, the folklore research of anthropology department is interesting. If you want to do Lingnan culture, you can go out of school and experience life.
