In his freshman season, Curry became the best newcomer and scoring champion in the SEC League with an average of 2 1.5 points per game. In the second game of college, he contributed 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists; Break the three-pointer record of freshmen in the 2007 Southern District Championship.
In his sophomore year, Curry led the dark horse davidson college to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.
In March 2008, davidson college defeated the second seed of Gonzaga University, Georgetown University, NCAA University and the third seed of the University of Wisconsin. Curry became one of the four players who scored 30 points in the first four NCAA knockout games in history. Against the University of Kansas, Curry made a season 159 three-pointer, which set an NCAA single-season three-pointer record.
In his junior year, Curry completed the transition from offensive guard to point guard, averaging 28.6 points and leading the United States, and also contributed 4.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.5 steals. He surpassed the legendary John Gatti and became the scoring king in the history of davidson college. He scored 42 points against Oklahoma with Blake Griffin and set a new NCAA single-game scoring record.
