Liuli was admitted to Zhejiang University on 1998, and was recommended to major in chemical reaction engineering in Tsinghua University in 2002. In March 2003, he chose to drop out of Tsinghua. After dropping out of school, he returned to his alma mater. After three months of preparation, he was admitted to Tsinghua University again, and he chose the Department of Architecture as his undergraduate course.
