Guangzhou Nanyang Polytechnic Vocational College is a provincial full-time ordinary college approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Conghua District, Guangzhou, which is known as "Guangzhou Back Garden". Its predecessor was Guangzhou Nanyang Self-taught Examination Counseling University, which was founded on 1984 by Guangzhou alumni of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi 'an Jiaotong University, aiming at inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of "educating people to serve the country" in Nanyang Public College.

The school is located at No.23 Huanshi Road1/KLOC-0, Conghua District, Guangzhou. Out of the school gate is the bus stop, and there are shuttle buses to Conghua Bus Terminal, Xinronghong, New Century and other surrounding transportation hubs and business districts.

The new subway line 14 has been put into operation. The nearest subway station is only 4.5 kilometers away from the school, and it takes only 45 minutes from Dongfeng subway station to Jiahe Wanggang subway station. It greatly saves travel time and improves travel efficiency.
