2001August 23rd, Hunan Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Xiang Xing College of Xiangtan University. The college enrollment plan is included in the enrollment plan of ordinary colleges and universities nationwide.

On September 3rd, 20001year, Xiangtan University appointed Liu Jiaoshou as the dean of the college.

On 2001September 12, the Party Committee of Xiangtan University decided to set up a temporary general branch committee of Xiang Xing College of Xiangtan University. Professor Zheng Jinhua is the temporary party branch secretary.
