How to apply for studying in the UK by yourself?
There are probably the following procedures for applying to a British school.

1. Entry exams include language exams and professional exams. It is best to complete the entrance examination before the start of the senior year (September) and get good grades. The application time for British schools begins in September at the earliest and ends in May of the following year at the latest. The earlier the application time is, the more the balance of enrollment places of prestigious schools is, the requirements are relatively loose, and the application success rate is relatively high. In terms of language tests, both Britain and the United States now recognize TOEFL scores and IELTS scores. However, if you want to apply to the top schools in Britain, you'd better take IELTS. Different schools and majors have different requirements for language achievement, and specific language achievement requirements need to be consulted on the school website. Generally speaking, the TOEFL score is 100 (full mark 120), and all universities in Britain can apply except Oxford and Cambridge. In terms of professional examinations, GRE (American Graduate Entrance Examination), GMAT (American Graduate Entrance Examination for Business) and LSAT (American Graduate Entrance Examination for Law) are generally not required to apply for British schools. But if you take these exams and get excellent grades, it will be of great help to apply for related majors in British schools.

2. Prepare personal statement (PS) and recommendation letter (reference). PS is very important, and it is an important means to show yourself and package yourself. The biggest role of study abroad agents is to help.

Sentences and parallelism. When you show yourself in PS, you must follow a principle, that is, any boasting and exaggeration must be proved by facts or figures, otherwise it is empty talk. Generally speaking, letters of recommendation are not very important, and they are usually written by themselves. Just find a good professional teacher in an undergraduate school and sign it. If you don't get good grades, have no student work or club experience, and can't write a beautiful PS, then the recommendation letter is the key to counterattack. Find an authority of this major, or an internationally renowned expert, or a professor of this major in a British school to write a letter of recommendation for himself, and the application process will become relaxed and pleasant.

3. Choose a school. After the entrance examination, personal statement and recommendation letter, we will start to choose schools. There are two main ways to obtain relevant information. First, check the rankings of British universities, and suggest looking at the University Rankings of the British Times, which is more comprehensive and authoritative; The second is to browse the school's website to increase the understanding beyond the school ranking, such as the school's learning environment, living environment, degree of internationalization and so on. Choosing a school depends not only on the comprehensive ranking of the school, but also on the professional ranking and the learning and living environment of the school.

4. Submission of materials. After the target school is determined, it is necessary to submit materials according to the requirements of the school (it will be clearly stated on the school website). British schools generally support online application, that is, scanning relevant materials or making them into word documents, and sending them to schools by mail or on the school website. The materials submitted generally include the English version of the undergraduate transcript (applied to the academic affairs office of the undergraduate school) and the English translation of the undergraduate graduation.

Certificate and degree certificate (for application to the academic affairs office of undergraduate school), scanned TOEFL or IELTS test report, scanned passport, etc. For details, please refer to the regulations of British schools.

5. Accept the offer. Generally speaking, the application results will be known one to three weeks after submitting the materials. If you are not accepted, some British schools will not send an email to tell the applicant that they have been rejected. So if there is no news for a long time, then the applicant may have been rejected. There are two kinds of admission notices for British schools: conditional admission (CO) and unconditional admission (UO). Because when applying to a British school, applicants often haven't graduated from undergraduate courses, and haven't got their diplomas, degree certificates, graduation thesis scores or final exam scores of some courses (all transcripts submitted to British schools before can also be applied in the Academic Affairs Office), so British schools will give them a CO, and when the applicants get their diplomas, degree certificates and all scores, they will scan these materials and pass them on to British schools. British schools believe that the applicant has met the conditions (such as the final GPA) and will tell the applicant that CO has been converted to UO. At this time, the applicant can really breathe a sigh of relief, because the applicant has finally been admitted. Another situation is that some applicants meet the requirements of the school. The school thinks that the applicants are good, but their language scores do not meet the minimum requirements of the school. At this time, the school will also issue a CO to let the applicant continue to take the language test. As long as the language test scores are up to standard, CO will be converted into UO. It must be noted that after receiving the offer, whether it is CO or UO, you must reply to the school in time, indicating that you have received the admission notice and are willing or unwilling to come to this school. 6. Apply for a visa. After accepting the letter of admission from a British school, we will begin to prepare for the visa. Every year from June to August, it is the time for international students to apply for visas. The scene is hot and the waiting time is long. It takes more than a month to get a visa. Therefore, you must apply for a visa as soon as possible so as not to delay the registration time. When you apply for a visa, you will submit proof of deposit, preferably the student's own deposit. If it is a parent's deposit, you must also provide the student's birth certificate and household registration book, and you need to find a translation company to translate it and notarize it at the notary office, which is more troublesome. The certificates of deposit of the four major banks are all acceptable, but China Bank is recommended, because other banks need to translate their passbooks or certificates of deposit when handing them in, while Bank of China does not, which is more convenient. The deposit fund must be greater than the sum of tuition and living expenses (the school will give the local average monthly living expenses). For example, the tuition fee is 6.5438+0.5 million, and the living expenses are 6.5438+0.00 million. It is ok to deposit 250,000 yuan, but it is generally 300,000 yuan. It must be kept for more than three months, and it is best to keep it regularly and freeze it. The deposit certificate should be obtained within 28 days before the visa. These are all previous policies. I wonder if they have changed now.
