Wuhan University has three campuses, the Medical Department and its headquarters are in Wuchang District, and the Information Department is in Hongshan District.

Wuhan University, referred to as "Wu Da" for short, is a famous comprehensive research university in China and the earliest national university established in modern China. 1893, Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang, broadcast a film about the self-improvement school founded by the Qing government, which opened the curtain of modern higher education in China.

1896 changed its name to dialect school; 19 13 years, one of the six normal universities in China; 1926 was renamed as National Wuchang Sun Yat-sen University; 1928 was named National Wuhan University, which is one of the four famous universities in the Republic of China. 1949 changed its name. It has a history of 125 years.

Wuhan University is a famous scenic spot in China and a part of East Lake Scenic Spot, a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The school is surrounded by Luojia Mountain and East Lake, with an area of 5 195 mu and a building area of 2.66 million square meters.

As the earliest established national university in China, its palace-style architecture is a combination of Chinese and Western, simple and elegant, magnificent. They are masterpieces and models of modern China University campus architecture, and are called the most beautiful university campus in China. The cherry blossoms of Wuda University bloom in late March every year.
