Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University is a full-time ordinary college in Heilongjiang Province. It was founded in July 1958, and its first chairman was General Wang Zhen, former vice president of the country and then Minister of Land Reclamation. The school was originally under the Ministry of Agriculture and Reclamation, and 1973 was placed under the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province. After 65 years of development and construction, it has become an agricultural university with distinctive modern agricultural characteristics, agriculture-oriented and multidisciplinary coordinated development. The school was born in the historical tide of100000 demobilized officers and soldiers developing and building the Great Northern Wilderness. The original school site is located in the rural area of Shan Ye, north of Peide Town, Mishan City.
