Hello! First of all, I would like to thank the leaders of schools and colleges for their care and love for our poor college students. I am Xia Meng, a student of Class 09 oil painting studio; I have gained a lot in the past year in college! Combined with my actual situation, I hereby apply to the organization for "Top Ten Outstanding Poor College Students". After the hard work of teachers and students, I am honored to be elected as "Top Ten Outstanding Poor College Students", and I sincerely thank you! I very much hope that my deeds can inspire more poor students to realize the eight-character school motto of "ingenious thinking" and successfully complete their studies. This is not only an honor, but also an affirmation of my academic performance, work ability and comprehensive quality. Now I will introduce my basic situation as follows:
I was born in an ordinary peasant family with several acres of barren land. When I was a child, I was as naive and lively as other children and had my own childhood dreams, but the cruelty of real life shattered my childhood dreams. At the age of 4, my father died suddenly and my family lost its pillar. We lost our father's love and once lived in a gloomy shadow. The house was leaking and raining, but unfortunately it didn't stop because I was small. When I was 5 years old, my mother left my brother and me for no reason. Such a blow is like a bolt from the blue, which is a blow to the fragile little girl. It feels like the sky is falling. Losing parents is so helpless and painful. Grandma is old and weak. What will my brother and I do in the future? When we were alone, my uncle resolutely adopted us. He treats us as his own children and cares for us with a mountain of love. As far as I can remember, whether it is cold or hot, my uncle always gets up early and works in the dark, either going up the mountain to throw stones or going down the mountain to farm. For us, he has never been married and devoted all his efforts to us. Nevertheless, he can only live on the meager income earned by his uncle's coolies. Although the family is poor and life is bitter, my brother and I are particularly optimistic because there is love with us all the way. On my way to school with my brother, there have been many kind people's support and care, including neighbors, relatives, classmates, teachers and strangers. It is these people who give us the opportunity to go to school, the opportunity to swim in the ocean of knowledge, and the ability to pursue our dreams and soar like other children.
Adversity urges me to make progress, and suffering promotes me to grow. I aim to repay the society. In 2006, my brother and I took the college entrance examination at the same time. At that time, I was admitted to Nankai University and Minzu University of China. However, because my grandmother, who is nearly ninety years old, needs to be taken care of, and my family can't afford the high tuition fees for both of us, I gave up the opportunity to enter the university for further study, and finally my brother entered the university with excellent results. After taking care of my grandmother who was bedridden for two years, I still refused to give up, picked up my textbook again and studied hard, because I was unwilling to be the most common flower in the sky and the most common drop of water in the sea. I will never let fate control me. I want to be the master of my own destiny, and God helps those who help themselves. In 2009, I was admitted to several universities at the same time and achieved satisfactory results. Hot notice means I can. I can really start a new life. However, there is a towering mountain lying across this splendid university road. He is the huge and expensive tuition fee. For me and many other students who were born in poverty like me, this astronomical figure is enough to block our way to college and crush the beautiful dreams we once painted with our heart. Just when I was sad and helpless, the relevant teachers of the school called and finally passed our school.
2. A full college life
When I entered the university, I knew that my learning opportunity would not be easy and I really wanted to seize it. The study and life of freshman is an extremely important stage in my life. In this year, I have gained a lot. I have made great progress in all aspects and my overall quality has been greatly improved. Just after the military training of my freshman year, I was elected as the secretary of the class branch of Class 09 Painting 1, and now I am the monitor of Class 09 Oil Painting Studio: In the process of properly handling the relationship between study and work and striving for all-round development, I got a great exercise! And won everyone's respect and support. Many things happen. Through unremitting efforts, I achieved good academic results in the first semester of my freshman year. Through half a year's hard work and active activities, I have achieved good results in intellectual education and moral education. In the comprehensive evaluation, my intellectual education score ranked 1 in the grade, ranked third in the comprehensive evaluation score, and won the third-class scholarship. At the same time, he was awarded the honorary title of excellent league member and excellent league cadre. At the same time, I also strive to expand my knowledge in all aspects. Adhere to self-study for a long time after class. In my spare time, I often look up materials in the library or electronic reading room through the internet to supplement my classroom knowledge in time. Through these, I have broadened my horizons and enriched my knowledge. Ask your classmates and teachers modestly after class, and your homework will be finished on time. As a monitor, in addition to doing a good job in daily work, I also organized many different types of activities to improve students' ideological consciousness, promote class spirit and enhance cohesion. As a bridge between teachers and students, I try my best to explore and do my job well, and the classroom atmosphere is harmonious. I was awarded the honorary title of "excellent class collective" at the school level.
